How to play Texas Hold’em Poker
Texas Hold'em poker hands are made up of your best five cards, consisting of any combination of two cards dealt to you (known as Pocket Cards), or Hole Cards, and any of the 5 Community Cards dealt face up in the middle of the table by the dealer.
Texas Hold'em poker has four rounds of betting and is one of the fastest growing games in the online industry. Hands are usually finished quickly with a maximum of 10 players able to take part in a hand. The objective of the game is to finish with the best Poker Hand and to win the Pot.
At the start of each hand, each player is dealt two cards. These cards are known as Pocket Cards and can only be seen by the player himself.
Once the Pocket Cards have been dealt the first round of betting takes place. Once the Flop (first 3 community cards) has been dealt by the dealer, another round of betting takes place between all the players left in the game.
After this round of betting - ending with either all players contributing equally to the Pot (or else there's a winner and the hand is finished), a fourth Community Card is dealt face up by the dealer, this card is known as The Turn. A third round of betting now starts and then the final Community Card is revealed by the dealer - The River, again face up.
Once again betting resumes once the River is dealt and each player left in the hand attempts to win the Pot on the strength of their cards. If any more than one player is left standing after this last round of betting - Showdown - then all remaining players' hands are revealed with the strongest hand winning the Pot.
